Introduction to basalt
Basalt is a type of basic extrusive rock with a chemical composition similar to that of gabbro. Its SiO ₂ content varies between 45% and 52%, and its K ₂ O+Na ₂ O content is slightly higher than that of intrusive rocks, while its CaO, Fe ₂ O3+FeO, and MgO contents are relatively lower. Basalt often has a spotted structure, with pore and almond structures, high durability, and many joints with hexagonal joint surfaces. Its color is mostly black, black brown or dark green, with a dense texture and a high specific gravity. Porous basalt is called "pumice" because it has many pores and is hard, possessing unique physical properties.
Production line configuration
The configuration of the basalt crushing production line mainly includes the following key equipment:
Vibration feeder: used to evenly feed large basalt blocks from the silo into the crusher.
Jaw crusher: performs primary crushing to break large basalt into smaller particles.
Cone crusher or impact crusher: for medium and fine crushing, further crushing the coarse crushed material from the jaw crusher into smaller particles.
Vibration screen: used for screening and crushing materials to separate the required particle size.
Impact crusher (sand making machine): carries out sand making operation on the screened material to form the required particle size of sand material.
Sand washing machine (optional): Clean the finished sand after sand making to improve the quality of the sand material.
production process
Crushing stage:
The large basalt blocks are uniformly fed into the jaw crusher for coarse crushing by a vibrating feeder.
The coarse crushed material is transported by a belt conveyor to a cone crusher or impact crusher for intermediate and fine crushing.
After being finely divided, the material is sieved again through a vibrating screen to separate materials of different particle sizes.
Sand making stage:
The materials that meet the sand particle size requirements are sent to the impact crusher (sand making machine) for further sand making operations.
The material after sand making is sieved again through a vibrating screen to ensure that the particle size of the finished sand meets the requirements.
Sand washing stage (optional):
The basalt mechanism sand that needs to be cleaned can be cleaned by a sand washing machine to remove impurities and improve the quality of the sand material.
Finished product storage:
The screened and cleaned finished sand is sent to the finished product bin for storage, ready for subsequent use.

The finished sand produced by the basalt crushing production line has a wide range of application fields, mainly including:
Architectural concrete: Xuanwu rock has a hard texture and can be mixed into concrete to reduce its weight while improving its strength, sound insulation, and thermal insulation effects. It is a good aggregate for lightweight concrete in high-rise buildings.
Road construction: Basalt stone has low water absorption rate, stable chemical properties, and strong adhesion to asphalt, making it a high-quality stone material for railway, airport runway and other road construction.
Other industries: Basalt can also be used in various fields such as industrial catalysts, landscape construction, road paving, etc., and has a wide market demand.
