Hammer crusher and jaw crusher are two common crushing equipment, which have certain differences in crushing principles, structural design, and applicable scope. Below, we will compare the hammer crusher and jaw crusher, and analyze their advantages and disadvantages.


1、 Crushing principle
1. Hammer crusher: mainly uses the high-speed impact of the hammer to crush materials. When the hammer rotates at high speed, it strikes, tears, and compresses the materials to achieve the purpose of crushing.


2. Jaw crusher: Adopting the principle of extrusion crushing, the angle between the moving jaw plate and the fixed jaw plate forms a V-shaped crushing chamber. The moving jaw plate moves back and forth under the drive of the eccentric shaft, thereby squeezing and crushing the material.


2、 Structural design

2. Jaw crusher: The structure is relatively complex, consisting of moving jaw plate, fixed jaw plate, frame, eccentric shaft, flywheel, adjustment device and other components. 3、 Applicable scope


1. Hammer crusher: suitable for crushing brittle materials with medium hardness or below, such as limestone, coal, gypsum, etc. Hammer crushers have advantages such as high crushing ratio, high output, and low energy consumption, but they are sensitive to the humidity and viscosity of materials and are prone to clogging the sieve plates.


2. Jaw crusher: suitable for crushing materials with high hardness, such as granite, basalt, iron ore, etc. The jaw crusher has the advantages of simple structure, convenient maintenance, and high crushing efficiency, but the crushing ratio is relatively small and the product particle size is uneven.


4、 Comparison of advantages and disadvantages

-High crushing efficiency and uniform product particle size.
-Suitable for crushing materials with high hardness.


4. Disadvantages of jaw crushers:


-The crushing ratio is relatively small.
-High energy consumption and high operating costs.

In practical applications, the selection needs to be based on factors such as material characteristics, crushing requirements, and production scale. For materials with lower hardness and humidity, hammer crushers have better crushing efficiency and economy; For materials with high hardness and high humidity, jaw crushers are more suitable.
