Jaw crusher appeared in 1858, referred to as jaw breaking, jaw breaking machine, mainly by the dynamic jaw and static jaw two jaw plate crushing chamber, similar to animals, using two jaw movement to complete the crushing operation of materials. It has the characteristics of large crushing ratio, uniform product particle size, simple structure, reliable operation, easy maintenance, easy to use and economy. It is used in road construction projects, and is widely used in different industries such as mining, smelting, building materials, railways, and water conservancy.

 

Jaw Crusher Classification

Jaw crushers are classified based on the position of the pivoting swing jaw. There are three main jaw crusher types:

Blake crusher – the swing jaw is fixed at the lower position.
Dodge crusher – the swing jaw is fixed at the upper position.
Universal crusher – the swing jaw is fixed at an intermediate position.
The Blake crusher was first patented by Eli Whitney Blake in 1858 and it is the most common type of jaw crusher employed today. The Blake type jaw crusher has a fixed feed area and a variable discharge area. Blake type crushers come in various sizes and are commonly used for primary and secondary crushing roles.

Working principle

The material between the two plates is subjected to crushing, splitting and bending during the process of axial swing of the movable jaw around the suspension core. At the beginning, the pressure is small, so that the volume of the material is reduced, and the materials are close to each other and squeezed tightly; When the pressure rises to exceed the strength that the material can withstand, crushing occurs.
On the contrary, when the moving jaw moves away from the fixed jaw in the opposite direction, the material moves downward by its own weight. Each periodic movement of the jaws causes the material to be crushed once and sent downward for some distance. After a number of cycles, the broken material is discharged from the discharge port. With the continuous rotation of the motor, the crushing motor jaw makes periodic movement to crush and discharge materials to achieve mass production.
