Precautions for replacement of wear-resistant parts of jaw crusher

Time: 27.02.2025

As a commonly used crushing equipment in the industrial field, the working principle of jaw crusher is to achieve the crushing of materials through a crushing chamber composed of two jaw plates, the moving jaw and the static jaw, which imitates the movement of the animal's two jaws.It plays a key role in many industries that require a large amount of broken ore and materials, such as mining and smelting, building materials, roads, railways, and chemical industry.Due to frequent crushing operations, the wear-resistant parts of the machine are easy to lose and need to be replaced regularly.Next, we will introduce in detail the precautions when replacing the wear-resistant parts of the jaw crusher.

1. Main points for replacement of mandrel, eccentric shaft, and bearing

Shaft repair and replacement standards: If the degree of wear of the shaft is light, only the geometry needs to be repaired, which can be turned by a lathe. However, when the journal size is reduced by 5% compared to the original after multiple turns, the turning can no longer be carried out and a new shaft must be replaced.

Treatment of bearing Pap alloy lining: In view of the operation of the jaw crusher under impact load, the Pap alloy lining on the bearing needs to be re-cast every two years.
Gap adjustment and replacement guidelines: When the gap between the eccentric shaft and the bearing, the mandrel and the bearing is worn out, and the gap exceeds 1.5 times the original gap, it needs to be padded to adjust or replaced directly; if the oil groove wear reaches 1.5 mm, the oil groove should be re-opened and adjusted; the gap between the connecting rod head cover and the eccentric shaft, if the wear is greater than 1.5 times the assembly gap, it also needs to be padded to adjust or replace new parts.

2. The key points of liner replacement

Parts and effects of easy-to-wear liners: The fixed jaw liners (tooth plates), moving jaw liners (tooth plates) and liners (guard plates) on both sides of the jaw crusher are easy-to-wear parts.Once the wear is severe, it will cause the particle size of the product to become larger.
Initial wear treatment method: In the initial wear stage of the liner, the liner can be turned around for use, or the upper and lower liners can be turned around for use to extend its service life.

Judgment on the timing of replacement: The wear of the jaw plate is mainly concentrated in the middle and lower parts. When the wear of the tooth plate reaches 3/5, a new liner must be replaced; when the wear of the liners on both sides reaches 2/5, a new one needs to be replaced in time.

3. Detailed steps for the replacement of thrust plate

Preliminary preparation: When the thrust plate is severely worn or the front thrust plate is broken, the ore in the crushing chamber must first be removed, and then the badly worn or broken thrust plate should be removed, and the elbow plate on the moving jaw and connecting rod should be carefully checked for damage.
Replacement operation: Pull the moving jaw near the fixed jaw, apply dry oil to the working surface of the elbow plate for lubrication, and then replace it with a new thrust plate so that it is in slow contact with the working surface of the elbow plate.

Follow-up adjustment: tighten the horizontal tie rod, let the moving jaw clamp the thrust plate, tighten the safety cover, connect the lubrication system, and finally adjust the size of the mine discharge port.
